The Music Scene at Saint John's University
Saint John's University has had a strong music curriculum from its beginning, and thousands of students have participated in University music ensembles. In addition, music performances have been a strength of the CSB+SJU Fine Arts Programming series.
Music has also been a consistent element of Saint John's social environment. From outdoor concerts to popular dance bands to music festivals, music has been in both the foreground and background of student life -- and for some alumni, it's been the start of a career in the arts. This exhibit looks beyond the classroom to provide a glimpse of SJU's music scene over the decades.
