On December 13, 1989, a Band Forum was held to determine which bands should play Pinestock on May 12, 1990. BoDeans ended up being the premier entertainer with Hoopsnakes and Mark Farner also performing. There was a dunk tank and a bustling beer garden. Those that attended agreed it was the best Pinestock in recent years.

The performers at Pinestock on May 11, 1991, were a Johnnie band Snozberries, The Gooney Birds, Ipso Facto, and the headliner Soul Asylum. Students partied more responsibly at after-parties in St. Joe this year, so there were almost no complaints from the citizens of St. Joe.

On May 9, 1992, the Pinestock performers were Small Room, the Billy’s, Cathy Braatan, Jibri Wise One, and Trip Shakespeare. The 1993 Pinestock artists were Les Exodus, The Blenders, Tina and the B-Side Movement, and the headliner Blues Traveler.

Pinestock 1994, featured some changes. One such change was that events happened the night before and the day of, with activities on both campuses. Activities included a caricature artist, a dunk tank, a Velcro wall, and vendors selling jewelry and crafts. The Art Club sold temporary tattoos and the Knights of Columbus had a food booth. The performers on May 14th, were Joyfiends, The Maroons, The Freudian Slips, Pleasure, and Matthew Sweet. Joyfiends was a CSB+SJU band with lead singers and acoustic guitar players Tracy Bodeen and Brian Wachtler, Peter Wegner on rhythm and lead guitar, Ericka Schwichtenberg on bass, and Brian Wise on drums. The Maroon band played songs rooted in reggae with R&B, gospel, and jazz mixed in and The Freudian Slips is an a cappella group. On the night before there was a comedian/juggler, Sean Emery, and a showing of the film The Man Without a Face. Before the concert happened, there was breakfast and picnic lunches, and the annual Peer Resource Program (PRP) Triathlon. The beer garden served drinks in souvenir cups for those of age.

On April 1, 1995, the Battle of the Bands occurred, and Grump was declared the winner. The band opened May 13th, for the other artists, Tina and the B-Side Movement, Martin Zellar, and Freedy Johnston. There was also a magician and blow-up sumo-wrestling at Pinestock ’95.

For Pinestock ’96, the police were on alert. They were concerned about vandalism induced by the copious amounts of alcohol being consumed. The JEC did its part to keep the festival safe by providing a ton of free food and free non-alcoholic drinks. Violent Femmes headlined the concert on May 11th with other bands Johnny Clueless, Tim Mahoney and the Meanies, and Groove Tree. Groove Tree was the campus band that won Battle of the Bands on April 20th.

On May 10, 1997, the bands Freddy Jones Band, Gutta Percha (Battle of the Bands winner), Stir, and the Paula Cole Band performed. On May 9, 1998, the headliner was Big Head Todd & the Monsters. Other bands were Bobby Llama and The Honeydogs. One Drop was the student band that won Battle of the Bands ’98.

On May 1, 1999, Bobby Llama performed again with the headliner being Soul Coughing. The other performers were Tremorphlo and the Battle of the Bands winner.
