By 1997, Tonic Sol-fa had four albums out. These albums were 4 Hours and 12 Days (1995), Left Turns in Cross Traffic (July 1996), and Carol (fall 1997) which was their Christmas album. 4 Hours and 12 Days was recorded in the Great Hall at SJU with several members of the CSB+SJU Chamber Choir and Men’s Chorus as backup vocalists. On June 13-14, 1998, Big Sing USA which was America’s largest outdoor vocal music festival came to CSB. The event featured a cappella groups from across the US, including Tonic Sol-fa.  They returned again in 1999 for a spring concert. By 2000, Tonic Sol-fa were nominated five times for “Contemporary Artist of the Year.”  On December 13, 2008, Tonic Sol-fa was honored by the City of Minneapolis. The mayor, R.T. Rybak declared December 13   Tonic Sol-fa Day.  Their latest appearance came in 2009, when Tonic Sol-fa came to SJU to play at the concert for Fr. Bob Koopman’s inauguration as President. The quartet won their first Emmy Award in 2010 for a song performed in a Toys for Tots PSA.
