About three quarters of postcards sold in America were manufactured in Germany. This picture postcard of St. John's was sold by Hermann Post Card Co., St. Louis, but printed in Germany between 1907 and 1911.

The image on which this postcard was based is definitely photographic. At least six colors of ink were used to produce the card.
